FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can we use Title I funds to purchase this?
Many schools use their Title I, Part A parent and family engagement set-aside funds to purchase the Powered Up Parent Engagement System, since the training and materials are designed to build parent capacity and increase family engagement, both of which typically qualify under Title I PFE guidelines. We’d recommend confirming with your district’s Title I coordinator or business office to align with your specific LEA plan, but this is a common and often underused funding source for exactly this kind of resource.
How much time does it take me to roll this out?
Almost none. Once you have access, you can hand the portal login directly to your parent group leaders. Most administrators spend less than 15 minutes total: sharing the link and pointing your volunteers to the sections relevant to their role. The training itself is designed to run without you.
Is this just for school parent groups starting up?
This collection has been designed with new and existing groups in mind! One of the most frustrating aspects of coming in as a new volunteer is that you only get the resources the previous volunteer hands over. Even if what you get is fantastic, there’s always room for improvement and fresh ideas. You’ll find all that in this system!
Is special software needed?
No. You’ll need a program to unzip the compressed folders and read the PDFs (both programs are probably already on your computer). Once opened, you’ll need either Word or Google Docs to customize the templates and Google Sheets to access the finance management program.
Do you have to be tech-savvy to use the resources?
